TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Rose-Hulman’s Oakley Observatory will host a free, open house event to take a look at the night skies.
The open house will be held at 10 p.m. to midnight on July 25. In the instance of rain or clouds the event will be postponed and held at a later date on July 26 at 10 p.m.
The observatory was founded in 2000 by a grant through the Oakley Foundation and features a variety of telescopes to enhance the view of the night sky.
The Oakley Observatory is located on the east end of campus, near the Hunt Road entrance. Parking will be available in the commuter parking lot near the bonfire field, also by the Hunt Road entrance.
Access to the Oakley Observatory requires you to climb two flights of outdoor stairs.
