CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced two road closures for pipe replacement work that will impact portions of State Road 42 and State Road 46 in Clay County.
State Road 42 closure:
The road closure on State Road 42 is set to begin on or after July 29, as crews will be replacing pipe on S.R. 42 south of I-70 near Prairie City.

INDOT said the official detour follows S.R. 42 E. to C.R. 25 W. to E. C.R. 300 N. to N. C.R. 100 E. back to S.R. 42.
Work is expected to last a day but is weather-dependent and is subject to change.
State Road 46 closure:
INDOT crews will also be replacing a pipe on State Road 46, between County Road 200 East and County Road 300 East, near Ashboro.
The work is expected to begin on or after August 4. INDOT anticipates the work to only last a day, but that timeline is weather dependent and is subject to change.
The official detour around the closure follows S.R. 46 to C.R. 200 E. to C.R. 100 S. to C.R. 300 E. back to S.R. 46.
