KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A search warrant served in Knox County resulted in officers locating a wanted suspect hiding “spread-eagle” under a mattress, said the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Friday morning, the sheriff’s office received a tip on the location of Dustin Biehl, 37, who was wanted on a burglary warrant. The tip to police said Biehl was located at a home on Snapp Street in Oaktown.
When officers went to the location, a female, Whitney Yarber, 31, was at the residence and allegedly told them Biehl was not there. However, the sheriff’s office said deputies suspected Yarber “was being untruthful and obtained a search warrant for the residence.”
Once deputies served the warrant and entered the home, Yarber allegedly told them Biehl was hiding in the bedroom.
“A search of the bedroom resulted in locating Dustin lying spread-eagle under the mattress. Dustin was taken into custody without further incident,” said the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Yarber was also taken into custody for hiding Biehl, and both were transported to the Knox County Jail.
Biehl was booked on the level 5 burglary warrant, and Yarber was booked on a charge of assisting a criminal.
