TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Terre Haute Fire Department celebrated the achievements of its newest firefighters during the recruit class 2025 graduation ceremony.
Firefighters were recognized for months of intensive training and preparation for service. Ceremony included the presentation of badges, recognition of top-performing recruits, and the traditional pinning ceremony. During their training, the firefighters encountered numerous simulated emergencies to get them prepared for the field.
Assistant Training Chief Shane Husband said he is very proud of their handwork.
“They’ve shown a lot of grit and a lot of effort in getting through this. It’s not easy. There’s days I’m sure they were sick and tired of me. And I’m sure there’s days that they wanted to quit, but they didn’t. And they push through and I’m proud of them for that,” Husband said.
The Firefighters will officially start on the job training in a few weeks.
