TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A local restaurant opened a second location and they did it in a big way.
Sharxs Fish and Chicken held a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday for its second location. The ribbon cutting is part of their first annual Back-to-School and Customer Appreciation event.
They gave out 100 backpacks to kids to celebrate. There was a bouncy house, slide, and snow cones for children to enjoy as well. They were also giving out hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks to everyone in attendance. The owner wanted to hold this event as a way to give back and say thank you to the community.
“So we’re doing the first annual Back-to-School barbecue event, so we’re basically showing appreciation for the customers,” said Owner and Operator of Sharxs Fish and Chicken, Sam Alzeer. “This is our second location in Terre Haute, and we’re giving back. We’re giving backpacks filled with school supplies and free food.”
The event went on until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sharxs Fish and Chicken’s new site is on Fort Harrison Road. It’s open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day of the week. Their other location is at 3040 Wabash Ave.
