GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – An annual race in Greene County will go on this year, but organizers have made some adjustments so everyone can join in safely.
Open Arms Christian Ministries’ annual 5K, one mile walk and kids fun run wil take place on August 1 at Worthington City Park.
The event will help them raise money to replace the water heaters at their HEbron Home for boys in Lyons. Their goal is to raise $10,000.
Organizers say they’ve taken steps to ensure social distancing by making the race a chip start. They’ve also added a virtual option this year that people can select when registering.
“We definitely are excited,” says Alyse Rick, Special Events Coordinator. “There are many people who have come every year for our race, so we’re excited to see that. People want to get out and exercise, and get together, but we need to make sure that we’re doing it safely.”
