JASPER COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Jasper County Coroner confirmed the identities of the three people who drowned in the Embarras River over the weekend.
Coroner Jason Meyer identified them as 39-year-old Travis Keebler and two of his children, 12-year-old Adelyn Keebler and 6-year-old Noah Keebler, all from Willow Hill.
A GoFundMe was set up to help cover funeral expenses and more for the family.
WCIA reached out to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office for more information and did not immediately hear back.
JASPER COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Three people were recovered after drowning in a local river on Saturday night in Jasper County, Illinois.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, just after 5 p.m. on Saturday dispatch received a call of a possible drowning of multiple individuals in the Embarras River, just northwest of Ste. Marie.
Authorities responded to the scene, and recovered the bodies of three victims from the water. No names have been released at this time.
Over a dozen local agencies responded to the scene including Crawford County Rescue, Vincennes Township Fire Department, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Wade Fire Department, Jasper County Ambulance Service, Jasper County EMA, Oblong Fire Department, Crooked Creek Fire Department, Dieterich Fire Department, Greenup Ambulance Service, Jasper County Coroner, Montrose Fire Department, Newton Police Department, and Robinson Fire Department.
