WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that alternating lane closures are coming to Interstate 69.
The closures are set to begin around June 30 and will be concerning two different sections of Interstate 69 outside of Washington, Indiana. The first section will be over the bridge at the interchange of U.S. Highway 50 and Interstate 69, and the second will be from mile marker 64 to mile marker 66.
These alternating lane closures will allow crews the opportunity to perform bridge deck overlay preventative maintenance projects. Work on these projects is projected to take three weeks to complete if weather permits.
Lane closures will occur in both northbound and southbound lanes, but one lane of traffic will remain open in the work zones. INDOT asks that drivers slow down and stay alert while traveling through the work zones.
