FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A car went through the El Patron Mexican restaurant in Farmersburg Monday afternoon.
According to Farmersburg Chief of Police Cody Strain, Sullivan County Dispatch received a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. about a person who collided with the building. Upon arrival, the driver was located in her vehicle inside the restaurant. Strain stated the woman had to be extricated from the vehicle by Thunderbird fire personnel.
Strain said it’s believed the crash was caused by a medical incident. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Honey Creek Fire Department’s Tactical Rescue Team was called in by Thunderbird Fire Department to stabilize the building before removing the vehicle from inside. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
The incident is still under investigation.
