FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Chief Meteorologist Jesse Walker recaps the storm that came through the Wabash Valley earlier Wednesday.
Walker started by saying that the storm is on its way out. The tornado watches for our area have mostly concluded for our area, but have remained in some Indiana counties to the east.
The storm has also caused a drop in temperature across the valley. Walker stated that Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Bedford, Indiana, are really the only areas still looking at severe thunderstorm/tornado warnings.
Walker also noted that several storm reports came in through our area, mostly referencing wind and wind damage. The only funnel cloud sighting in the immediate area was in Oakland, Illinois, in Coles County. The northern portion of Terre Haute and Vigo County, however, received several calls about tree limbs down and tree damage from strong gusty winds that reached up to 60 miles per hour.
