VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A warrant round-up by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office took place Monday evening. Eight people are now behind bars thanks to your tips to Crime Stoppers.
WTWO teamed up with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office for a special live campaign.
We featured ten men and women who had active warrants out for their arrest. The community pulled together to help make this campaign a success.
In the Crime Stoppers Command Center, sheriff’s officials packed the room, manning the phones for tips on our ten men and women featured as the Wabash Valley’s Most Wanted. While Vigo County Sheriff Derek Fell explained who we were looking for, teams of deputies were out in the field serving those arrest warrants and our teams worked right along with them.
Our first arrest was 45-year-old Nicholas Reynolds. He was wanted for dealing methamphetamine. While arresting Reynolds, deputies found Courtney Loudermilk as well. Loudermilk was arrested for possession of a syringe. Alona Peraza was also on our most wanted list. The police nabbed her during the live campaign as well. Peraza was wanted for dealing meth and marijuana.
The phones rang for over three hours with the community’s anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.
Thanks to those tips, Rick Bradbury was arrested. Bradbury faces domestic battery charges. Sheriff’s deputies later found Joshua McKenzie hiding from them in a crawl space. McKenzie was on the most wanted list for failure to register as a sex offender.
Ricky Higgins was picked up Monday night on a domestic battery warrant and for resisting law enforcement. Next was Rickey Kennedy for possession of meth and a heroin warrant. Finally, while out serving our most wanted warrants, deputies also arrested Rickie Hamilton.
Hamilton was wanted for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
“At the end of the day, our goal is to keep our community safe,” said Sheriff Fell. “So, as many people who have warrants we can put behind bars, that is our end goal…”
A hardworking night by deputies and WTWO viewers working together to clean up our streets. A team effort thanks to the community’s support.
The Crime Stoppers tip line is open 24/7 to help us put all of the Wabash Valley’s Most Wanted behind bars. That number is 812-238-STOP (7867).
