VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office has provided new information on how they will be handling the charges surrounding Javon Wilson.
Wilson is the man charged with reckless homicide after a shooting incident in downtown Terre Haute this past weekend killed a woman.
In April of this year, Wilson was charged with criminal recklessness and unlawful carrying of a handgun. In August, he was charged with domestic battery.
Both of those cases were in Vigo County and, according to the prosecutor’s office, remain active.
Also, in April of last year, Wilson was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance in the state of Texas.
Vigo County Deputy Prosecutor Rob Roberts said the office has advised the court, and Wilson’s Defense Attorney, that they will try Wilson’s reckless homicide case first before proceeding with the other Vigo County cases.
Roberts said they will have no control over how the state of Texas chooses to follow through on the other case.
