TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Fall is here and if you’re looking for some fall fun, the Vigo County Parks Department has you covered.
This Saturday at Hawthorne Park, there will be a family hike at 10 a.m. It’s a gentle hike through the wetlands, which means it’s a great way to get the kids and the whole family involved. After the hike, there’s a Silly Safari Animal Show at 12:30 p.m., followed by hayrides from 3 to 6 p.m.
The hayrides are 3 dollars per person and there will also be face painting and concessions.
Everyone can enjoy the fall leaves with these family-friendly activities.
“Having these events, especially the family hikes, is a great way for families to come together,” said Tavia Hedrick, Natural Resource Programmer with Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department. “And like I said, to introduce kids to hiking, especially at a younger age, I feel like this is a very gentle way. And also, just bringing the community together, meeting people you might not have met before and just exploring our county parks.”
Vigo County Parks will have more fall events coming up the following weekend at Fowler Park.
they’LL have hayrides… And trick or treating in the village… On Saturday.. October 25th.
that night… Will be the annual… Fowler park after dark event… If you’re looking… For something… A little more spooky.
