TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It was a busy weekend over in Fowler Park, as it was their 53rd Annual Pioneer Days.
The annual event is put on by the Vigo County Parks Department, where it sends visitors back into the early 1800s.
The event was a journey through time. The visitors got to hear stories, visit cabins, and admire authentic outfits from the past time. Many folks also enjoyed basket weaving and overall, the historic atmosphere. The weekend also featured live music and beautiful views.
For one girl, this is her third year going and said there are many activities for all to enjoy.
“My favorite part, I like the goats a lot because I like animals, but I like a lot of the things, I can’t really have a favorite,” said girl scout Evangeline Templeton.
“I mean I was just petting the goats, and I just got a sucker, and I also made a rope,” said 4-year-old Sophia Grace Ball.
this event has been going on.. for the last five decades.. and overall was another successful year.
