TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Terre Haute Children’s Museum has announced the continuation of its Toddler Tuesday program.
Toddler Tuesday is a weekly program that runs from August through May, offering families with young children experiences that offer a blend of fun, discovery and early learning. The events occur every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon and admission is $5.
The program is designed specifically for children from the age of three months to five years. It introduces foundational skills in a fun and hands-on way. Each session incorporates movement, music, art, and guided activities to help children explore early childhood concepts, such as shapes, colors, patterns, and problem-solving.
“Early childhood education is a cornerstone of lifelong learning,” said Mandalyn Grubb, Early Childhood Program Manager of the Terre Haute Children’s Museum. “Through play-based exploration, children develop language, social skills, and creativity. Thanks to the support of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, we can offer families an affordable, consistent opportunity to learn together every week.”
One of Toddler Tuesday’s events will be the Instrumental Petting Zoo with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. This event will allow children to touch, play, and explore real instruments under the guidance of symphony members. This special program will relate to the song “The Wheels on the Bus”, inviting toddlers to explore colors, shapes, and opposites inspired by the song’s action words and phrases. This particular event will take place on October 14 and again on May 12 for those who were unable to participate the first time.
Toddler Tuesday is a drop-in program, meaning you are ok to drop off your child and stay or leave as your time allows. For more information, you can visit this link or call 812-235-5548.
