CLARK COUNTY, Il. (WTWO/WAWV) — In Marshall, Illinois Thursday, one man’s quick thinking, was honored.
Mike Bridges is an EMS Supervisor with Clark County. While on a call, his partner, went into cardiac arrest. Bridges, then had to perform CPR on two people, at the same time.
Because his dedication and the help of other team members, his partner survived. The other person, unfortunately, was already too far gone.
To honor his heroic act, the county held an event at the Clark County Courthouse to recognize all of the teamwork. Senator Chapin Rose and Congressman Mike Bost, along with other community leaders, were there to honor bridges.
“It’s great. Can’t do it by yourself, so I’m glad everybody got recognized and everybody deserved it. It’s a great thing,” said Bridges.
Bridges said this is why they are trained to prepare for any situation. Thanks to the timeliness of Bridges and his team, his partner Brian is on the road to recovery.
