TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Coy Park in Terre Haute is officially open again after a major makeover.
City leaders and neighbors gathered today for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the improvements. Upgrades include a new playground featuring a sensory dome, swing set, and landscaping. They’re designed to make the park safer and more welcoming. This project was made possible by a fundraiser launched by the Mayor’s Youth Council.
Layla Johnson with the Mayor’s Youth Council said they appreciate the community’s support.
“It really means a lot to us to have a better future for every kid in Terre Haute and that’s what this is for.”
The Mayor’s Youth Council raised over $40,000 for the renovations.
