CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person has been arrested in connection to a family stabbing incident on Saturday morning in Clay County.
As we previously reported, the incident happened just before 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, when multiple departments including the Clay County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a private rural residence on a report of a possible stabbing.
Upon arrival, deputies secured the scene and discovered a male who had sustained several puncture stab wounds. Lifeline Air Ambulance was requested due to the severity of the wounds. The individual suffered internal organ damage as a result of the puncture wounds.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, during investigation authorities learned that an argument stemmed between two family members, which led to one individual stabbing the other multiple times.
The altercation was discovered by a separate person who was present on the property, and other family members were alerted.
Authorities arrested and remanded 25-year-old John Collen Weishaupt to the Clay County Jail on preliminary charges of Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony.
