Update: 12:43 p.m. PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After nearly nine hours, all lanes on I-70 westbound have reopened near the 30-mile marker.
The lane restrictions were implemented after an early morning semi-trailer fire about 11 miles west of Cloverdale.
Update 7:15 a.m. PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Police Troopers responded to a semi fire early Friday morning on Interstate 70 westbound at the 30-mile marker. That’s 11 miles west of Cloverdale. The right lane (driving lane) remains shut down while emergency crews work to clean up. The cleanup is expected to take about three hours.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Cloverdale Fire Department, Jackson & Posey Volunteer Fire Departments, and Curtis Wrecker Service are assisting.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Interstate 70 westbound was shut down Friday morning at the 30.5-mile marker, as crews worked to put out a semi-trailer fire.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, the trailer fire was due to a mechanical failure. The trailer was detached from the semi.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
