TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Families gathered at Ryves Youth Center for the center’s monthly Family Night.
Guests enjoyed a cozy fall meal of chili and peanut butter sandwiches, while learning about mentoring opportunities and updates on Ryves programs.
One highlight of the night was the announcement of a brand-new laundry room.
The laundry room is available to families within the program and is located upstairs in the gym. It is open Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. by appointment.
“For a lot of kids that you know may not be able to go to school with clean clothes on a routine basis, it might mean that they stay in school. It might mean that they’re less embarrassed, or picked on, or teased because they don’t have clean clothes. So, we don’t want that to be a barrier for them to receive a good education,” Agency Director for Catholic Charities John Etling said.
