TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It was a hot day Sunday, but that did not stop some good old fashion fun for Terre Haute’s 37th annual Old Fashion Day.
The event is hosted by the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department. Sunday, hundreds of community members gathered for a special celebration.
It’s an all-day event featuring homemade items from vendors, wagon rides, a puppet show, and more. There was a little something for everyone, from shaved ice for the kids, to a car show.
The show featured all kinds of makes and models. One group, a car club from Brazil, said they’ve came to this event for about 10 years and said they enjoy meeting people at events such as this.
“A lot of people really care and look at your vehicles and like them and some of them anyway, a lot more than others, but anyways, we really like it. It makes our day go better,” said Gary Call, member of a car club from Brazil.
“This is a 71 Chevelle Super Sport, and it’s got the big block motor in it with a four-speed transmission, and it’s been all restored and people like it,” said Terry Stephenson, member of a car club from Brazil.
The sunny skies made for a great afternoon of good old-fashioned fun, down at Collet Park.
