VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Health Connection of the Pace Community Action Agency has announced they are running the 2025 Pad and Tampon Drive throughout September.
Pace states that this is a community initiative to address menstrual poverty and promote health equity. The news release states that this year’s drive specifically focuses on ensuring students in local schools have the supplies they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity, confidence, and comfort.
The release states that Menstrual poverty continues to impact education, wellness, and opportunity. 20% of girls in the U.S. have missed school due to a lack of access to menstrual products. Pace believes this is a barrier that should never stand between a student and their education. The release states that when students have the resources they need, they can focus on learning, thriving, and participating, with less interruption.
“Menstrual health is a human right, not a privilege,” said Michelle Pitcher, Clinical Services Director. “By working together as a community, we can eliminate one of the most preventable causes of missed school days and help students feel supported.”
Pace invites businesses, community groups, and community members to participate in the drive. You can bring unopened packages of sanitary pads, tampons, panty liners, menstrual cups, or other menstrual hygiene products to your nearest Health Connection clinic, which can be located at this link. You can also arrange a pick up by contacting your local clinic or order directly from one of the participating counties’ Amazon wish list provided below.
