LOOGOOTEE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man accused of shooting another man, back in February, inside a cabin where police found over 83 grams of methamphetamine, appeared in court Thursday.
According to court documents, Alexander J. Carlquist has been charged with:
- Burglary, but seriously bodily injury occurs and burglary was to a dwelling.
- Burglary with a deadly weapon.
- Battery by means of a deadly weapon.
- Battery resulting in seriously bodily injury.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said Carlquist left the cabin prior to deputies arriving, leading to a day-long search before he was located and placed into custody on February 15.
While inside the cabin, which was identified as Harmon’s home, deputies allegedly located several scales with a crystal-like residue on them, $6,000 in all $100 bills located in a large beverage jug, and 83.44 grams of methamphetamine, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Harmon was also taken into custody and charged with two counts of dealing in methamphetamine, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia, according to court documents.
Thursday, Carlquist appeared in Daviess Superior Court for a pretrial conference. His jury trial date is set for November 18.
Harmon will appear in court next on September 30 for a pretrial conference, with his jury trial date also set for November 18.
