VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Vincennes’ Good Samaritan Hospital will be holding a Men’s Health Fair to provide necessary services to attendees.
The free screenings offered at the fair include blood pressure, colorectal take-home kits, pulse oximetry, and a lab draw to test blood sugar, a lipid profile (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides), glomerular filtration rate to see kidney function, and PSA for men 40 and older. Several hospital departments will also be on hand at the event to answer questions and share information on the services they offer.
“Our Men’s Wellness Fair is our most popular free screening event,” stated Rob McLin, Good Samaritan CEO. “Many of the men who attend are reluctant to seek out regular medical care, so this wellness fair gives them another option to get the screenings they need in a casual atmosphere. Evidence has repeatedly shown that early detection and prevention are two important components of good health.”
Attendees will need to pre-register online at this link or by calling 812-885-3336 by September 30. It is recommended to fast for 10-12 hours before the lab draw, but it is not required. The event will be held at the Highland Woods Community Center from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on October 7.
