TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — There will be many festivities to celebrate Labor Day in the Wabash Valley.
Labor Day is not only a celebration, but recognition, for workers and organizations. Over at the IBEW Local Union 725, they said they will participate in Labor Day parades at Terre Haute and Palestine.
The parades acknowledge the accomplishments of laborers from the past year and educate the community on what their work entails. According to the business manager at Union 725, their participation shows that these individuals are working toward a collective goal.
“Organized labor is definitely a huge celebration. We put a lot into Labor Day, recognizing our own members, other local trade members. Their contributions, you know, to the labor movement,” said Jim Fellows, business manager for IBEW Local Union 725.
Local Union 725 will be at the Terre Haute Labor Day parade on Monday.
