PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — About a month ago, the Parke County Sheriff’s Department introduced a new phone application.
Now, that app is being put to use by catching criminals.
Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier said their new app, titled Parke County Sheriff’s Office, has already led to the arrest of someone on their wanted persons list.
He also said they have received a number of tips from the community that have helped in investigations.
The app allows local residents to submit a tip, make a patrol request, read news releases, as well as get immediate crime and weather alerts.
Other features include a list of sex offenders that, according to Sheriff Fraizer, has already been clicked on hundreds of times since the app has launched.
“Some of the tips we’ve had have been successful, like I said, I think if it’s easier to report it, you’re more apt to receive that information”, Frazier said. “Last week we had a tip on one of our wanted persons, on warrant Wednesday, and within a half-hour of that tip we had the person in custody.”
You can download the app on any device you have by going to your app store. It is titled Parke County Sheriff’s Office.
