DUGGER, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After a year-long process, Dugger Union Community School marked a major milestone today with the official ribbon cutting for its brand-new junior wing.
Students, parents, faculty, and local leaders gathered on the school grounds this evening to celebrate the opening of the new wing, which will serve seventh and eighth grade students. The new addition will have six classrooms, conference rooms, and restrooms.
The school decided on this new expansion to give students more space to learn.
“They’ve been cooped up and cramped up with a lot of the high school and elementary was really close to them too. But this will give the junior high their own personal space. I think it’s something that they ought to be proud of and I mean this is theirs,” Dugger School Board member Kyle Foli said.
Foli also said they are working on other projects including the football field.
