MARTIN/DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a road closure that will affect U.S. 231 in Martin and Daviess counties.
According to INDOT, crews will close U.S. 231 near Loogootee and Crane, between Interstate-69 and U.S. 50, on or around August 11.
The road will be closed to allow crews to begin a chip and seal road maintenance project.

The official detour during the closure will follow I-69 to U.S. 50.
Work is anticipated to take a week to complete, depending on weather conditions. Local traffic will still have access during the closure.
