VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A color run was the grand finale for the Vigo County Public Library’s summer reading program.
The Color Our World Run/Walk event wrapped all the summer program’s activities at the local library. Dozens of participants took part in the event, running or walking. The run is one of many events the Vigo County Public Library holds throughout the summer.
Although the school season right around the corner, the library is always encouraging families to have their children take part in the summer reading program. For the program you sign up, log your reading, and have the chance to win prizes.
“I’m sure parents know, when school lets out, kids sort of tend to forget all of the things they’ve learned throughout the school year, so we feel like summer reading programs helps to keep their minds moving a little bit during the summer months,” said Shaleena Barker, Public Relations Manager for the Vigo County Public Library.
The fun doesn’t end here for library events. The Vigo County Public Library has their Family Learning Day event September 27th. 10am to 1pm.
