TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Vigo County Sheriff’s Office Detective has been assigned to the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children to continue “the fight to protect and pursue those who target our children,” according to a press release.
“In months and years past we have conducted operations focused on those who target our children, and in recent months we began conversations to assign an investigator to the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force,” wrote Vigo County Sheriff Derek Fell in a press release on social media.
The Vigo County Detective was assigned to the Indiana ICAC in May of this year and will be completing additional and specialized training for these types of investigations.
The Indiana ICAC is a multi-agency task force led by the Indiana State Police that investigates and prosecutes individuals who use the internet to sexually exploit or entice children.
“We look forward to interagency collaboration and investigative efforts, working together to protect our children, by removing predators from the streets of our community,” wrote Sheriff Fell. “Make no mistake! If you are a predator of our children, standby – we are actively searching for you!”
