“Today, we celebrate the completion of CORE’s Phase 2, and we remain dedicated to building a more efficient and accessible regulatory environment for professionals seeking to work in Illinois,” said IDFPR Secretary Mario Treto, Jr. “By embracing technology, we are empowering our workforce, enhancing public safety, and ensuring everyone can thrive in Illinois.”
In total, CORE can now be used to become licensed in 95 different types, allowing professionals to apply for their professional license in Illinois. The licenses added in phase 2 were only available as paper applications. Now with the new CORE system, the department believes it will save time on the review process.
IDFPR plans to add not only all other license types but also all other application methods, including renewals, reinstatements, and restorations, to CORE. This will be done across four additional phases they plan to roll out over the next year. The next phases focus on adding a full regulatory transition for DPR, real estate, banking, and financial institutions.
