TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The VCSC board approved permission to advertise public hearing for GO Bonds.
These bonds are already used by the school corporation for facility improvements like HVAC projects, but now they are going to use the bonds for the facility study and the plan.
There will be specific information that will be presented at the hearings. Between now and the hearings, the board will decide what projects the bonds will fund. The bonds cannot move forward without the board’s approval process and funding will become available in late fall or early winter.
“It’s something we’ve been doing for at least the last seven or eight years to supplement and make up for property tax to be able to do preventive maintenance. This year we are going to be using those go bonds to specifically support the facilities study and the plan,” said Himsel.
At this time, there are no additional details about the facility study implementation. The public hearing for the GO Bonds will be August 11th and August 25th.
