SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A local school corporation is doing what it can to make sure students have what they need for the school year.
Southwest School Corporation held a Stuff the Bus event, collecting school supplies outside the Walmart in Sullivan. This is an effort the corporation puts on every year.
Last year, they filled up three-fourths of the bus. Superintendent Chris Stitzle said they’re happy to be able to help as many students as possible.
“A lot of kids aren’t as fortunate as others, and some of them need supplies, so this is just the way to supplement that, and it’s really welcomed by the parents and students,” said Stitzle.
Stitzle said this is an event they plan to continue next year.
