GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Police Trooper Tyler Turchi has recently been promoted to the position of Sergeant, according to a press release.
Sergeant Turchi will serve as a District Squad Sergeant for the Putnamville District, and his responsibilities will include providing support and supervision to district troopers, according to ISP.
Sergeant Tuchi is a seven-year veteran of the Indiana State Police and is a graduate of the 78th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. He was originally assigned to the Lafayette District before transferring to the Putnamville District in 2022 to work as a road trooper in Parke and Vermillion counties.
While working at the Lafayette District, he was recognized as Trooper of the Year in 2020 and again in 2023 for the Putnamville District. For the last two years, he has also led the Putnamville District in arrests involving DUIs.
