TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Terre Haute Fire Department fought a fire at an occupied home Monday afternoon on 27th Street.
According to THFD Public Information Officer Nicholas Arnold, the fire occurred at 12:22 p.m. at 1920 North 27th Street. Arnold said that the first units on the scene showed up two minutes later, to smoke and flames that were visible on arrival. The building was occupied and the utilities were on.
Arnold said that though the Terre Haute Fire Department was able to quell the fire in just a few minutes, the occupant is unable to remain in the home at this time. The structure was not considered a total loss, and no exposure occurred. The occupant of the home was treated on scene for minor injuries and did not require transport to the ER.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
