TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man led police on a chase through Clay and Vigo County, reaching speeds of 115 mph.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, Monday afternoon an Indiana State Trooper observed Marvin White, 20, driving 108 mph on State Road 59 south of Clay City.
When the trooper attempted to pull White over, he fled to I-70. Once on I-70, White took the exit to SR 46 in Vigo County.
“He then drove two miles down Margaret Drive, into a driveway, where he turned around and headed back toward SR 46,” Ames told WTWO. Ames noted that White nearly struck two police cars.
“He had to make an evasive move when there was oncoming traffic,” said Ames.
White pulled into VoMac Sales and Service, striking a parked vehicle. The crash disabled White’s vehicle and he was arrested.
According to Ames, White is facing preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, a level 6 felony and Reckless driving.
