SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — In Sullivan County Saturday was the event, Wine and Whiskers.
This annual event partners with Wine and Whiskers to provide free lunch and live music for the community with all donations going toward the Sullivan Humane Society.
The goal is to raise funds for their animals’ needs. Julie Tow is a board member for the Sullivan County Humane Society. She said their animals need continuous love and care.
“It’s so important for us to have events like this to get funding because running the animal shelter is very costly. A lot of grants and opportunities to get money are no longer available to us,” said Tow.
Tow said the funds from this event will mainly go towards medical needs such as spay and neuter services.
