INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — State Reps. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) and Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) have recently received appointments to serve on interim study committees that will explore policy issues and work to identify solutions throughout the summer and fall.
During this time, legislators will hear testimonies from the public, experts and shareholders on bill recommendations ahead of January’s legislative session.
Rep. Heaton will serve as a member of the Interim Study Commitee on Financial Institution and Insurance.
“Indiana’s economy depends on strong financial institutions and a stable insurance market,” Heaton said. “These discussions will help us protect consumers, attract investment and keep Indiana competitive.”
While Rep. Borders will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development and as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance.
“We’ve got a responsibility to keep Indiana’s economy moving,” Borders said. “Whether it’s reducing red tape for businesses or strengthening our financial institutions, I’m looking forward to solutions that create real growth.”
