TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Covered with Love Diaper Bank is holding a banquet in September, celebrating 10 years of providing diapers and baby hygiene supplies to families in the Wabash Valley.
On average, one in two American families report experiencing diaper needs, according to Covered with Love (CWL). For families on a tight budget, CWL said affording diapers can be challenging since government programs like SNAP or WIC do not cover diapers.
Since 2015, CWL has distributed nearly half a million diapers to families in need, and they expect to cross that half-million threshold before the end of this year, with recent economic strain on families.
The banquet in September will cap off National Diaper Awareness Week—September 15 through 21—and will continue to draw attention to keeping children clean, dry, and healthy.
The banquet will be held on September 20 at the Terre Haute Convention Center. The meet and greet will start at 5:30 p.m., and the banquet will feature a cash bar and plated dinner services.
Tickets are currently on sale, and all proceeds from the banquet will directly benefit the organization. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. More information on both options can be found here.
