CRANE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Naval Support Activity Crane installation will be holding a change of command ceremony on Thursday.
Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) is conducting a change of command ceremony where Colonel Franyate Taylor will be relinquishing command to Colonel Aaron Cornett. Colonel Cornett was most recently assigned to the 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
Colonel Cornett will now be leading the Crane Army Ammunition Activity, which specializes in conventional munitions support for the U.S. Army and Joint Force readiness, including storage, quality control, shipment preparation, distribution, production, and demilitarization. Crane Army also provides command oversight to the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Letterkenny Munitions Center in Pennsylvania, and the Milan Army Ammunition Plant in Tennessee.
CAAA is one of 17 installations of the Joint Munitions Command and one of 22 organic industrial bases under the U.S. Army Materiel Command, which includes arsenals, depots, activities, and ammunition plants that provide ammo to all military services, defense agencies, federal agencies, and allied nations.
