EDGAR COUNTY, IL (WTWO/WAWV) Edgar County officials have released the identity of a man who was found unresponsive in the water in June.
According to Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett, 74-year-old Allen G. Williams of Paris was found unresponsive in the water of Paris Twin Lakes’ East Lake, near his home, shortly after 1 p.m. on June 10.
Barrett noted that a 911 call was made to the Edgar County Sheriff’s Department at 1:06 pm. First responders transported Williams to the the hospital, where he was pronounced dead
Barrett stated, “Evidence at the scene, interviews with family, autopsy results, and histology/toxicology testing determined that shortly before being found in the water, Mr. Williams had gone to his boat dock to complete some work on his boat. While on the dock, Mr. Williams suffered a fall that caused him to hit his head, lose consciousness and fall into the water where he then drowned.”
