TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It was a busy day at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds as Sunday marks the second day of the Vigo County fair.
There of course is something for everyone. Anything from rides, 4h projects, animal shows, to food and beverages to keep cool in the summertime heat. Sunday, the antique tractor show and public speaking competition was just two of many events going on.
The tractors paraded around the fairgrounds, then through the Culvers drive thru for a sweet treat. Some tractors nearly one hundred years old. Antique tractor participant Morgan Merritt has been around the tractors since she was little girl. She mentioned this year is even more special to her.
“Because my grandpa. He has two tractors. One works one doesn’t, and he’s been doing it for I don’t even know how many years and it just he passed last year and it’s something that we do to carry on his memory,” said Merritt.
