SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Over in Sullivan, the County Park and Lake is celebrating the 4th of July with lots of weekend festivities.
Earlier this morning was a golf cart contest, followed by rock painting and of course enjoying the nice temperatures and sunshine. The park has nearly 30 vendors.
Celebrating the holiday weekend has been a tradition for many families for many years and the local park board hopes the community enjoys all of the holiday activities.
“Some people have been coming here for 50 years to spend their fourth of July here with their families and it’s fun to see the multigenerations,” said Harrison.
“Well, it sure brings a lot of people to Sullivan County and the park and lake last night and Thursday night were just packed with people, just packed,” said Hamilton.
And tonight, the park will have a band with fireworks starting at 10pm.
