TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church has a food pantry that people in the community can use if they are in need of food.
The church is located at 3201 McKeen Street in Terre Haute. The pantry is open on every fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m.
The church has a thrift store and donation center that helps provide funds and food for the pantry. People from the church and community also give back to the pantry. The church hopes the thrift store will be able to help the food pantry grow in the future.
“We realized that there was a place where our giftedness and what we had to offer came together with what the need was and things,” said Andy Fishback, Lead Pastor at Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. “So we were able to start this thrift store so that we could have resources to fund these needs in the community.”
The thrift store is open on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The proceeds from the store go back to the food pantry.
