FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)—A two-vehicle accident just before 4 p.m. Wednesday led to five people injured, including one who had to be extricated.
According to a Facebook post by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to the accident located in the area of U.S. Highway 41 and State Road 246. The preliminary investigation showed a 2016 Toyota Prius was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 41 traveling west and crashed into a 2005 Toyota Prius going southbound.
The post states that the four occupants of the 2016 Prius were all transported to Union Hospital. Three of them had minor injuries, and the fourth individual, who was a passenger, had to be extricated, and the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. The driver of the 2005 Prius was also taken to Union Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have contributed to the crash.
