SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Sullivan City Pool has announced its closure until further notice while a heat wave hits Indiana.
According to a post from the Sullivan City Pool Facebook page, the closure is about the persistent cloudiness in the deep end of the pool. They stated that they believe this issue is caused by an issue with the pool’s filtration system.
The issue is expected to be resolved over the next few days. The post continues saying that they will share an update on social media ahead of time once a reopening date is confirmed. The post stated that professional municipal pool services are scheduled to assess the filtration system and create a long-term solution as soon as they can.
The post continues, noting the poor timing of the closure with the heat, but said they appreciate the community’s patience.
If you have a scheduled pool party or signed up for another event at the pool, you are encouraged to call the Sullivan City Pool at 812-638-4185 or Sullivan City Hall at 812-268-6077 to confirm cancellations and discuss rescheduling.
