TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Today, a car and bike show was held at Top Guns to raise money for the nonprofit, Loyal Veterans Battalion.
This is the 8th annual event and the biggest fundraiser all year for the Loyal Veterans Battalion. They use the funds to provide clothes, food and shelter to the veterans. Organizers said this event is family friendly and brings awareness to veterans who are struggling.
Thier goal is to change a veteran’s life. The Loyal Veterans Battalion is also currently building a transitional home on 6th Avenue in Terre Haute. Terry Tryon is a member of the Loyal Veteran’s Battalion and brought his beloved 1950 For Convertible to show his support for veterans. Tryon also said there is a great need for aiding veterans in the area.
“We have a lot of veterans in need. There’s close to 200 veterans living in tents around this area and we try to find them and help them if they need food. Whatever we can give them,” said Tryon.
If a veteran is homeless and in need of a house, contact the Loyal Veterans Battalion.
