TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— U-Haul is offering free assistance to those in central Illinois and Terre Haute.
U-Haul is offering 30 free days of self-storage and U-Box container usage at six different centers across central Illinois and Terre Haute for those affected by Wednesday’s storms. U-Haul stated that they are doing this in response to the high winds that went through the area, causing property damage and leaving thousands without power. Multiple tornado warnings were issued Wednesday, and one did touch down near Paris, Illinois, that went along the Illinois border.
U-Haul believes that having access to dry and secure storage, as well as portable storage containers, can be essential to communities during clean-up and recovery from natural disasters.
The 30 days will be based on availability. The U-Box portable container offer is for on-site storage at company centers. If you would like to know more about the disaster relief program, you can contact the nearest participating U-Haul self-storage facility. Those facilities are:
