KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A woman in Knox County is in custody after she allegedly caused a crash that injured a 70-year-old man while driving under the influence.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Old U.S. 41 at Fort Knox Road after a vehicle driven by Kayla Wilson, 33, crossed over the center line and struck another vehicle driven by a 70-year-old man.
While speaking with police, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office said Wilson showed signs she may be impaired. A chemical test showed Wilson tested positive for methamphetamine.
Wilson has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. Wilson also had a prior charge of OWI in 2022.
The 70-year-old man was admitted to a hospital for observation.
