TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO-WAWV) — The following is a news release from the Terre Haute Police Department about an armed robbery at Kroc’s Butcher Shop on South 7th Street in Terre Haute.
Just after 4:00 p.m., Terre Haute Police Department uniformed officers responded to a reported armed robbery at a business located at 2626 S. 7th Street, Kroc’s Butcher Shop. The suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded money before fleeing the scene.
Thanks to witness descriptions, officers were able to quickly locate the suspect in the surrounding area. The suspect fled on foot and discarded the firearm while attempting to evade arrest. Officers apprehended the suspect a short time later. The individual was determined to be a juvenile and has been taken into custody.
THPD K9 Pito conducted a search of the area and successfully located the discarded firearm, which was later confirmed to be stolen.
Officers and detectives remain on scene conducting the investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
